AKIMOTO was founded on the 1st of January by Gijsbert Raadgever.
The studio consists out of a team of three senior designers. We focus ourselves – aside from editorial design, books and magazines – on broad creative projects. The chosen design solutions are based on the kind of project our client gives us.
That’s why you won’t find a specific style at Akimoto. We aspire to surprise all our clients. We expect to be surprised in the same way by our network of journalists, photographers, illustrators, architects, marketing- and communicationspecialists etc. To achieve this goal we invest in our network, within our region as well as nationally.

AKIMOTO DESIGNS
Editorial design, magazines and books. This kind of design has a strong relation to the content. We know how writers think and translate their stories into surprising magazines and nice looking books.

AKIMOTO PRODUCES
We work on innovative products that reflect the ideas of AKIMOTO.
A good example of this is the AKIMOTO bicycle project.

AKIMOTO PUBLISHES
We are able to produce publications completely in line with our client’s marketing and communication stategies. In print as well as online, for examples see publications of nani-ka and ono-ono magazine.

AKIMOTO INITIATES
We belive in taking initiative, like Gemaakt in Amersfoort. This website shows what is being made in Amersfoort. It’s a platform for creative output. People with all sorts of profession can partake, from achitects to writers and graphic designers to product designers. It works as a platform for on one side the clients and on the other side creative entrepreneurs.

AKIMOTO ORGANISES
AKIMOTO, in collaboration with Amersfoort Creative Stad, organises on a yearly basis the event around Gemaakt in Amersfoort. On this event, which is held at the Oliemolenkwartier, will be given away the GIA award for the most innovative design in the region.
